My name is Ashley. I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. I have really wonderful, loving, and fun parents, a sister that can make me laugh at any time (I love her a lot even though the younger sister is not supposed to be the smart one), and a handful of the best friends anyone could ever want. I went to Auburn University, and then AUM for nursing school. Since graduation I've worked on the cardiac floor at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. I love it.
Moving to Honduras, or anywhere outside of the U.S., isn't something that has ever been "my plan". I always knew missions would be part of my life, but I assumed that meant 1-2 week trips. God has better plans for us though, and now I'm more excited than I could have ever imagined to be going to Honduras. I am not the most qualified for the job, and I am so so far from being perfect and having everything figured out. I know that God will cover my inadequacies, and I am comforted to know that God doesn't expect me to be perfect, but rather will work with my weaknesses for His glory.
"'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." -2 Corinthians 12:9-10
