My Mission

After a lot of prayer and a lot of semi-successful planning on my part, I'm getting ready to move to Santa Rosa, Honduras, to work with Mission UpReach. Since this summer, I have been praying about using my nursing career for missions, and I believe that God pointed me in the direction of Mission UpReach. I will spend the majority of my time planning and helping with medical brigades, where groups come from the U.S. for a week at a time to set up clinics, and I should be able to do a lot of education. I'm really excited about forming relationships with the people there, and immersing myself in their culture.

I love the way God works. It's funny that I can be completely oblivious to what He is doing until much later, and I'm glad that leaves me no opportunity to think that any successes have anything to do with me. I am pretty sure that no matter how much I plan for the next couple of years, there are going to be many times that God has me doing things completely differently than what I expected. One of my prayers is that I stay open to following His plan and abandoning mine when they seem different. I'm sure this page will change a lot!
